INORGANIC ZINC COATING


Description: A two-component, fast dry, solvent-based, self-curing inorganic zinc primer.

Principle Features:
Rapid cure at low temperatures and high humidity.
Is not affected by rain or condensation within 30 minutes after application.
When fully cured, develops a tough abrasion resistant film.
Protects cathodically steel substrate.
Extremely resistant to corrosive marine and industrial atmosphere.

Recommended Uses: For preventing corrosion of bridges, ballast tanks, offshore platforms, drilling rigs, cargo holds, piping and processing tanks. Do not use in areas subject to splash or spillage of strong acids or alkali solutions.

Recommended Thinner: Simco T-1001

Surface Preparation:
The substrate must be dry and clean of dirt, oil, grease, weld flux and spatter. Sand blast all surfaces to "near white" grade per SSPC-SP-10 for optimum performance.

Mixing & Application Instructions:
Sift zinc dust slowly into liquid component while agitating with a power mixer. Mix until smooth and homogenous. Strain through 30-60 mesh wire screen before use. Spray is the method of application. Use air spray with agitated pressure pot or airless spray with continuous material mixing arranged. The substrate temperature should be 5-7 F above the dew point.

(A) Use normal precautions such as gloves, facemasks.
(B) Adequate ventilation must be maintained.
(C) Explosion proof lights & electrical equipment.
(D) Non-Sparking shoes & tools for workers in area.
(E) This product contains flammable materials. Forbid all flames, smoking and welding in work area.
(F) Avoid breathing of vapor, contact with skin or eyes. If product comes in contact with skin or eyes, wash thoroughly with water and obtain medical attention.
