This aluminum mixing varnish is an oleoresinous water-resisting spar varnish made out of tung & linseed oils and pure phenolic resin.

Preparation of Aluminum Paint Type I

The aluminum paint is prepared just prior to application by thoroughly mixing the aluminum pigment paste (Conforming to Federal Spec TT-P-320, Type-2, Class-B) with the mixing varnish in the proportion of 2 lbs. of paste to 1 gallon of varnish.
It is recommended that no more paint be mixed that can be used during the working day so that the paint used each day will be freshly mixed.
Preparation of Aluminum Paint Type II, Ready Mixed Paint:
The technical requirements for the Type-II paint are the same as those of Federal Specification TT-P-38D.
(A) Use normal precautions such as gloves, facemasks.
(B) Adequate ventilation must be maintained.
(C) Explosion proof lights & electrical equipment.
(D) Non-Sparking shoes & tools for workers in area.
(E) This product contains flammable materials. Forbid all flames, smoking and welding in work area.
(F) Avoid breathing of vapor, contact with skin or eyes. If product comes in contact with skin or eyes, wash thoroughly with water and obtain medical attention.
